Msi Wrapper For Windows 10

It is looking for the ICAWebWrapper.msi and can't find it. The getting started manual did not cover this, but in the end, the test for our users will be to access the server remotely. I can't seem to find a complete manual that would cover this part of the deployment. According to the tests, MSI installer produced by WiX Toolset v3.11 fails to install in Windows 10.

Also I tested on Windows 7 and it works.

@galeksandrp since you've developed the WiX script, do you have any idea how to fix this?

I've experienced an even weirder issue. After downloading the .msi it immediately vanishes into thing air. It's impossible for me to copy it elsewhere or rename it let alone running it. The antivirus doesn't report anything either. I'm running Win 10 built 16299

There can be only one reason for this - antivirus. Antiviruses doesn't show notifications sometimes.

For whatever it's worth, I have windows defender disabled by group policy, and no others installed. I originally got an error message (which I didn't think to record at the time), and subsequent attempts give me the UAC prompt, but nothing else

Is there a way to completely remove RDPWrap Tools? Admin/Remove Programs fails, as per #400. The fact the the MSI should not be used in Windows 10 is undertood but I still need to remove RDPWrap completely.

@rac19 use RDPConf to determine whether RDP Wrapper is installed.

It does Wrapper not installed, Service runinf and Listener listening. RDPCheck connects, but I can tell whether it is direct to Terminal Services or via the RDP Listener. Can you tell me the names of any RDPWrap services please?

These are same things, listener is created by Terminal Services.

RDP Wrapper doesn't create any own services for now.

Just to clarify, the Service and the Listener are standard Terminal Services/RDP and if the wrapper is no longer present I am using Terminal Services directly, is this correct?

FYI, Chrome blocks .msi as it thinks it is virus
Windows Defender shows nothing.

I'm stuck with partially installed msi in Win10, so I prepared this 'dummy' msi with actions removed.

If you would like to completely remove, use uninstall.bat from zip release and next:

install my dummy msi with 'msiexec /i RDPWInst.msi REINSTALLMODE=vomus'
uninstall my dummy msi 'msiexec /x RDPWInst.msi'

Used this MS tool to remove RDP Wrapper Library from 'Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features':

May 08, 2018 The Softpaq Download Manager has been troublesome for many over the past year or so. As Priscilla's link mentioned, making sure your using v4.3.23.0 or newer is a starting point so. V4.4.0.0 seems to be working better for me than others have in a while. https://ninworldof.netlify.app/hp-softpaq-download-manager-not-working.html. SoftPaq Download Manager (HP SDM) - versions prior to 4.3.23.0 do not report that a new version is available. It will load the catalog but the SoftPaqs cannot be download. HP Image Assistant (HPIA) - displays message: 'HP Image Assistant has stopped working' with the only option to close the program. Start All Programs HP HP SoftPaq Download Manager Properties, add /FORCEHTTP after the closing quote 'C:Program Files (x86)HPHP SoftPaq Download ManagerSoftPaqDownloadManager.exe' /FORCEHTTP. This switch, though a temporary solution is probably not a cure, but it works!

It works again! I couldn't even get iTunes to start after trying too many fixes.

After searching on the web for hours you finally had the best and simplest information on how to fix this irritating yet trivial problem after upgrading from Win7 to Win10.

I actually made it much more complicated since I reverted back to Win7 because my Dell Precision M4800 track pad didn't work as well running with Win10. Then, since there were so many more problems running other programs because the registries were all messed up, I decided to go back to Win10 anyway.

Good thing it was only my backup laptop computer but I later learned that the track pad problem was because Microsoft tried to make its track pad actions the same as the Mac.
