Microsoft Office Word 2003 Updates

I recently installed Office 2003 Pro onto a new Windows 7 PC. I am getting updates for Windows 7 but not Office. These can be installed manually, but as other people have reported they aren't being picked up automatically.
Windows Update on the PC reports that I am receiving updated 'For Windows only.'. If I click on the link beneath that 'Get updates for other Microsoft Products - Find Out More' it tries to open the link:-
http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx?ln=en-gb
in Internet Explorer, but doesn't open anything - the window just sits there. If I try copying and pasting that link into another IE window it opens a new link instead:-
http://www.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/thanks.aspx?ln=en&&thankspage=5
but that just opens a window telling me to open Windows Update on the PC. Back to where I was!
I tried the Windows Help and Support FAQ 'Where can I find updates?' which again suggests going to the Microsoft Update website. If I click on this, guess what - it again tells me to open Windows Update on the PC. 'Change Settings' only confirms that I have automatic updates, it doesn't give an option to select updates for other MS programmes.
I can find the updates manually but there are so many; SP3 was a 'quick win' but there seem to be 100 or more since then which aren't picked up by Windows Update.
Can anyone suggest a solution please?
Thanks in anticipation!
